Ramadhan sudah tiba..

Today is our first day of puasa. So macam mana puasa semua? :) I would like to share a few hadith about Ramadhan and fasting. Hope this will help our Ramadhan to be better than the past.

From Abu Huraira r.a. who said that Rasulullah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “When you see the crescent (of the month of Ramadhan), start fasting, and when you see the crescent (of the month of Syawal), stop fasting; and if the sky is overcast (and you can't see it) then regard the crescent (month) of Ramadan (as of 30 days)".

The people in-charge have seen the crescent of the month of Ramadhan, so now, we have start our first fasting day.. :)

Allah's Apostle (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When the month of Ramadhan starts, the gates of the heaven are opened and the gates of Hell are closed and the devils are chained."
(Narrated by Bukhari and Muslim)

So we should take this opportunity to do more deeds, repent and change to be better. :)

How many of us today who are grateful for being given an opportunity to gain blessings and pleasures in life? When they miss out that opportunity, they regret it and look forward for second opportunity. And how many do not realise the opportunities that come and leave. Even if they do notice them, they do not feel at loss for wasting them.

Kaab bin Ujrah narrated that Rasulullah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Come near the pulpit,” and we came near the pulpit. When he ascended the first step of the pulpit, he said, “Ameen.” When he ascended the second step, he said, “Ameen.” When he ascended the third step, he said, “Ameen.” When he descended, we said, “’O Prophet of Allah sallallahu alayhi wasallam, we have heard from you today something which we have never heard before.” He said, “When I ascended the first step, Jibrail appeared before me and said, ‘Woe to the person who found the blessed month of Ramadhan and let it pass by without gaining forgiveness.’ Upon that I said: Ameen. When I ascended the second step, he said, ‘Woe to the person whom when your name is mentioned and he does read du’a on you.’ I replied: Ameen. When I ascended the third step he said, ‘Woe to that person in whose presence his parents or either one of them attains old age, and (through failure to serve them) he is not allowed to enter Paradise.’ I said: Ameen.”

It is compulsory for Muslims to fast during the month of Ramadhan because by fasting we can control our desires. In fact, with Allah’s blessings, all doors to paradise will be opened and all doors of hell will be closed. Therefore, we need to take advantage of this situation to strengthen our soul and spirit by performing acts of worship such as the tarawikh prayers and recite the Quran which suits the greatness and nobleness of Ramadhan.

So, do use this opportunity to gain more pahala ang keep up the good deeds even after Fasting month is over. I want to apologize to everyone for my mistakes no matter intentionally or not. May this Ramadhan be better than the Ramadhan before and hope that all our amalan is accepted by Allah S.A.W.
Assalamualaikum.. :)
